CAPTAIN DREW

Captain Drew grew up fishing the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries with his dad and brothers. Between working in a tackle shop and mating on a variety of boats, Drew has been involved in the Chesapeake fishery his entire life. After college, he took a job as an environmental restoration specialist, where he managed projects focused on improving the health of the Bay through stream restoration, run off management, stormwater, and shoreline reconstruction. 

The dream to work on the Bay was always pulling Drew back to the water. He had several opportunities to work for experienced light tackle Captains as a mate before eventually getting the opportunity to be the Captain and Guide. After nearly four years as a Guide, Drew decided it was time to go out on his own, and Drew’s Light Tackle was born.

THE BOAT

The Last Drift is a 2021 28’ SeaHunter Floridian. Chosen for its speed, safety, and capabilities, it provides a smooth, dry, and comfortable ride. The Last Drift features plenty of seating without compromising space to comfortably fish for the whole crew. It is also equipped with a full tower for sightfishing opportunities, as well as the latest in Humminbird technology. The design of the boat allows the electronics to effectively work at high speeds, covering large areas of water quickly, locating fish, and catching more fish. The boat is also equipped with a full US Coast Guard safety package and radar for safe operation in limited visibility conditions.
