Why Light Tackle?
Captain Drew grew up light tackle fishing, though he didn’t know it at the time. His dad despised trolling and swore you could catch the same fish on a StingSilver or a black and white SassyShad and jighead. Though his career in the fishing industry has given him the opportunity to fish many different ways, Captain Drew’s favorite kind of fishing remains light tackle.
Light tackle is a more hands-on experience. It is about practicing, learning and seeing the magic that happens when catching the largest fish with the lightest equipment capable of handling the fish. Using artificial baits allows anglers to test and perfect techniques to entice a strike. Then, repeat or adjust that technique to ever-changing conditions. It’s not just fishing, it’s a science.
From brand new anglers to experienced veterans, everyone will enjoy the opportunity and education an angler can gain when targeting fish on artificial baits and light rods.
